This series is a record of time in the national parks. Not a guide, and not a list of summits. A set of notes from the ground: weather, distance, and what a place still asks of the person walking it.
I came to this work after years outside, including time as a firefighter and a park ranger. The parks are where that attention still starts. Explore is the lane for it. The blog is where the notes live.
Entries will follow the series as it moves. The photographs are from the field. The sentences are meant to be replaced by the days themselves, not the other way around.
