Wild Corridors Initiative
Protecting the routes animals actually use — not the ones that look tidy on a park map.

A protected area that animals cannot enter or leave is a beautiful enclosure. TRACE Foundation funds the unglamorous work of stitching habitats back together: crossing structures, community grazing agreements, and the slow politics of a corridor that has to run through someone’s field.
This dispatch follows a corridor project across savanna and farmland, where elephants still use memory routes older than the fences. The photographs are made at a distance. The negotiations are made at kitchen tables.
Impact, for us, is not a caption under a picture of wildlife. It is whether the calves born this season can still walk the same line their mothers walked. The Foundation publishes the maps and the budgets. TRACE documents the ground.
